What you get

The trip

The cruise leaves the marina at 6:00 PM and runs about two and a half hours. The captain picks the route based on the wind and where the sky is firing that night. Most nights that means a slow loop south into the Florida Keys waters and west into the Gulf of America for the actual sunset, then back to the dock by 8:30.

It's a private trip. The boat is yours and the captain's that night, not a shared seat with strangers. Bring the group you want; we don't pad the boat with other people.

You bring drinks, food, music. The captain provides the boat, the fuel, the route, the safety briefing, and a cooler with ice. Most boats in the fleet have Bluetooth speakers if you want a playlist.

Best for

Who books the sunset cruise

It's a popular pick for anniversaries, proposals, family birthdays, and end-of-vacation send-offs. Smaller groups (4 to 6 guests) get the most intimate version — you can hear each other talk and everyone has a comfortable seat. Larger groups of 8 to 10 still have plenty of deck space on the bigger boats.

If you want to propose at sunset, tell us when you book. We've done it enough times to help with the timing and the photos. We'll stay out of the way for the moment itself.

Logistics

What to expect at the dock

Plan to arrive at Breezy Palms two hours before the 6:00 PM departure. That gives time to park, check in, load the cooler, and meet the captain. We'll cover safety basics and the night's route before pushing off.

The marina is at 80015 Overseas Highway, Mile Marker 80 in Islamorada. Parking is at the resort. Walk down to the dock; you'll see the boats and the captain will be waiting.

Weather decisions get made the day of. If thunder builds in the afternoon or wind is forecast above 20 knots, we'll reschedule or refund. The captain has final call.
